Napoli reportedly agree fee with Real Madrid for Higuain
Napoli have reportedly agreed a fee of £31.8m with Real Madrid for Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, and are now trying to convince the striker to move to Italy as personal terms are yet to be agreed.
Arsenal had agreed personal terms with Higuain during their bid of £23.1m, but Madrid have been holding out for a higher fee. The Gunners have now shifted their focus on Liverpool’s Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez.
The Naples club have offered £140,000-a-week to Higuain. The North Londoners are unlikely to match Napoli’s bid for Higuain, but may be back in the running for him, if the player rejects the idea of moving to the Serie A.
Napoli have been in the market for a striker having sold Edinson Cavani to French Champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Agent Diego Tavano said, “Higuain would be a big hit if he was signed up as it seems. I think the guy can do really well for Napoli. He’s a striker, even a football player, more complete than Cavani. They will not regret losing him.”
CNN Italian sports correspondent Tancredi Palmeri tweeted that Higuain will have his medical in Rome in the next few hours.
