Nasri abuses French journalist
Donetsk - Samir Nasri was involved in a foul-mouthed tirade with a French journalist after his team’s Euro 2012 exit at the hands of Spain Saturday night.
Two goals from Xabi Alonso handed the reigning champions a 2-0 victory in Saturday’s quarterfinal, with France registering just one shot on target.
After playing the last half hour as a substitute, the 24-year-old Manchester City midfielder had a verbal spat with a reporter who answered back when Nasri suggested the media were only interested in portraying him in a bad light.
After calling the reporter a “son of a bitch,” Nasri quipped: “now you can write that I’m ill-bred,” French newspaper L’Equipe reported Sunday.
“The conversation was very violent,” coach Laurent Blanc was quoted as saying by a French television channel.
“There was a lack of respect from him (Nasri) toward the journalist. But the journalist was not demonstrating any respect either”
Nasri has had run-ins with the media before, reportedly telling a L’Equipe reporter that his equalizer in the 1-1 draw with England meant he should shut his mouth.
Nasri had also provoked controversy in England for his disparaging remarks on the supporters of his former team Arsenal.
