Rumour: Nemanja Vidic to Serie A giants 90% done
Inter Milan have confirmed that a deal to bring Nemanja Vidic to Serie A is “90% done”, as the speculation as to where he will be playing his football next season draws to a close.
Vidic confirmed earlier this month that he would be ending his eight year association with Manchester United at the end of the season, with his contract due to expire in the summer and a desire to move on to a new challenge.
David Moyes has decided to keep the Serbian powerhouse on as captain for the remainder of the campaign and Vidic has further good news in that a deal to take to Inter Milan is almost in place, according to current President of the Nerazzuri, Erick Thohir.
Thohir told reporters, “I can’t say anything other than the deal for Vidic is 90% done.”
Vidic has been at Old Trafford since 2006 after moving from Spartak Moscow for a few of around £7million, immediately becoming a hit with United fans for his rock solid performances at the back.
He will move to the San Siro on a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season, should the final 10% of the deal be completed without complication, and is expected to sign a two year deal with the Italian giants.
Nemanja Vidic has won 67 headed duels at a success rate of 66%, more than any player in Inter Milan’s squad.
