2 Manchester United star doubtful for Sheffield United clash as Erik ten Hag confirms fresh injury issues
Manchester United will face Sheffield United next in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Thursday, April 25.
The Red Devils qualified for the FA Cup finals on the weekend after defeating Coventry City 4-2 in penalties in the semifinals at the Wembley Stadium.
In that game, Marcus Rashford was substituted by Amad Diallo just minutes before the end of full time, while Scott McTominay, who opened the scoring for United, was replaced by Omari Forson during the extra time. Captain Bruno Fernandes, who scored in the 58th minute and also netted successfully in the penalty shootout, also faced some issues in the match.
The Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag provided injury updates ahead of their fixture against The Blades. He said (via Manchester United's official website):
"Scott McTominay, we have to assess today. That is really doubtful. Marcus Rashford is also doubtful and then there was an issue with Bruno Fernandes, with the hand. But I think he can make it. So we have some doubts going into the game tomorrow."
Young winger Alejandro Garnacho was unexpectedly replaced by the Dutch manager in the 66th minute and Antony was brought in. Speaking of the young Argentine's current state, Erik ten Hag said:
"Yeah, so we had a problem with Garnacho, that's why we took him off during the game but I think he will be fine."
