"2034 will be the best World Cup ever!" - Cristiano Ronaldo sends message as Saudi Arabia earn rights to host 2034 FIFA World Cup

Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message after the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was given the right to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. The nation will be the second Arab state to host the tournament, following the lead of Qatar in 2022.

The Portuguese superstar plays his club football in the Saudi Pro League, having joined Al-Nassr in 2023. Since then, he has succeeded with the team, scoring 74 goals and providing 18 assists in 83 games.

In a video shared on X by the official account for the Saudi 2034 World Cup, Ronaldo said:

"2034 will be the best World Cup ever. It's amazing, the infrastructure, the stadiums, The conditions for the fans and everything and after what I see. I'm more convinced that 2034 will be the best World Cup ever."
"One or two of these kids I will be with today will play in the World Cup. I believe they will continue to grow. We have to grow together in everything, not just in football in life, and I will continue to motivate them to grow."

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a decade to prepare for the 2034 FIFA World Cup and will be keen to put on a fabulous show for the world. Given his legendary status in the sport, Cristiano Ronaldo's role as a spokesperson for the event will be important.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to his nation Portugal getting confirmed as one of the co-hosts for the 2030 World Cup. Following a joint bid, the European country will host the tournament alongside Spain and Morroco.

Ronaldo is the greatest-ever Portuguese player, recording 135 goals from 215 caps. He has helped his country win their first two pieces of international silverware - the 2016 Euro and the 2018-19 UEFA Nations League.
