Playing for Liverpool has been a major part of Roberto Firmino's career. He has become a modern-day legend for the Reds since joining the club and is one of the most important players in their recent history.
Firmino helped the Reds win seven trophies in total, including one Premier League title and one UEFA Champions League title. After he received a grand farewell, his wife Larissa wrote on her Instagram story:
"Love, my prayer today is that you will receive the honor due you. And that you lay it at the feet of Jesus. All the words that have come out of my mouth these past few days are the truest."
She added:
"You are my example, my Safe Harbor, you are the love of my life, you are the most beautiful person with the most beautiful heart that I have ever known. I am sure that all this recognition you are getting is because you managed to show your heart on the soccer field as well. I LOVE YOU BOBBY!"
Larissa concluded:
"Where you go I will go, where you stay I will stay! Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God! Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me with all severity if anything other than death separates me from you! Verse 1:16-17 NIV. Thank you for providing our family with such joy and excitement."
Despite being 34, Firmino is a top player and could prove to be a handy signing for other teams. Where he ends up after leaving the Merseyside club remains to be seen.
