Alan Shearer names three Spain players England should be wary of in EURO 2024 final

Alan Shearer named Rodri, Nico Williams, and Lamine Yamal as three Spain players England will need to be wary of in the EURO 2024 final. The two sides will battle it out for the trophy at Olympiastadion Berlin on Sunday, July 14.

Spain have had a phenomenal EURO 2024 campaign so far, winning every match they've played. They beat Croatia, Italy, and Albania in group stages before getting past Georgia in the Round of 16 and hosts Germany (a.e.t) in the quarter-finals. They then beat France 2-1 in the semi-finals to reach the final.

Most of their players have performed brilliantly at the tournament but three players in particular have caught Shearer's eye. He believes England will need to stop these three players if they are to win the final. He told Betting.Betfair:

"There are going to be several key battles on Sunday. Rodri is without doubt the best midfielder in the world at what he does, I don't think there's anyone better than him. He plays a huge part in everything that Spain and Man City do.
"Also, if you look at their two wingers with Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal on either side, the key battles will be those two against England's full-backs. There will be so many brilliant individual battles all over the pitch and it'll probably take a piece of brilliance from someone to win it."

Rodri has played every game bar one for Spain at EURO 2024 and also chipped in with one goal. Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal, meanwhile, have played a starring role in La Roja's campaign offering constant threat on the wings.

Yamal, 16, has registered one goal and three assists in six games while Williams, 22, has contributed one goal and one assist in five games.

England's Harry Kane and Spain's Dani Olmo in hunt for EURO 2024 Golden Boot

The EURO 2024 Golden Boot race is quite tight at the moment as six players are tied for the top spot with three goals. Germany's Jamal Musiala, Slovakia's Ivan Schranz, Georgia's Georges Mikautadze, and the Netherlands' Cody Gakpo cannot add to their tally.

England's Harry Kane and Spain's Dani Olmo are hence, likely to battle it out for the EURO 2024 Golden Boot on Sunday. Both have scored three goals each and all have come at crucial times for their sides.

Kane scored in a 1-1 draw against Denmark in the group stage. He then scored an extra-time winner in their 2-1 win over Slovakia in the Round of 16 before netting in a 2-1 win over the Netherlands in the semi-finals.

Olmo, meanwhile, scored in La Roja's 4-1 win over Georgia in the Round of 16. He then scored in their 2-1 win over Germany in the quarter-finals before netting in a 2-1 win over France in the semi-final.

Notably, England and Spain's next two top scorers at EURO 2024 are Jude Bellingham and Fabian Ruiz, respectively, with two goals each.
