Alejandro Garnacho and Jude Bellingham react on social media as Manchester United man stars in Euro 2024 clash

Alejandro Garnacho and Jude Bellingham reacted to Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo's post on Instagram after England reached the Euro 2024 semi-finals following a shootout win over Switzerland in Dusseldorf on Saturday (July 6).

Both Bellingham and Mainoo started the game, which had ended 1-1 after 120 minutes. The latter went off in the 78th minute - after the Three Lions had gone behind to a Breel Embolo strike - but the Three Lions restored parity soon, with Bukayo Saka drilling home a sumptuous 80th-minute equaliser.

In the ensuing shootout - all five England players converted their spot-kicks - including Bellingham - as the Three Lions reached consecutive European Championships semi-finals for the first time.

Mainoo posted a picture of himself on Instagram with the caption:

"Together and ready for what's next. Onto the semis"

Bellingham commented:

"young general"

Garnacho responded in the comments section with a 'five-star' emoji.

The Manchester United teenager - making his first major-tournament appearance - has appeared four times for the Three Lions at Euro 2024 but is yet to make a goal contribution.

Meanwhile, Garnacho has reached the 2024 Copa America semi-finals with Argentina, where they take on Canada on Tuesday (July 9) at the Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Manchester United have had eight players in action at Euro 2024, but only two are still alive in the competition ahead of the semi-finals, which start in Munich on Tuesday (July 9).

The duo are Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw - both for England - who take on the Netherlands in the second semi-final in Dortmund on Wednesday (July 10). Shaw made his first competitive appearance in five months when he came on in the 78th minute of the quarter-final win over Switzerland.

It's pertinent to note that Shaw scored the Three Lions' opener in their Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy on penalties at the Wembley in London three years ago, producing an opportunistic finish to put his team into the lead.
