Andre Onana makes feelings clear when asked about Van Nistelrooy’s Manchester United future as Ruben Amorim plans to bring his own coaches

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has shared his thoughts on Ruud van Nistelrooy potentially being part of Ruben Amorim's coaching staff at the club. He said that he wanted the Dutchman to stay but the players will have to accept whatever decision Amorim makes.

Club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy returned to Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag's assistant manager in the summer. Following Ten Hag's sacking on October 28, the former striker was made the interim manager. Under him, Manchester United have won two and drawn one of their three fixtures so far.

Their next clash against Leicester City at home in the Premier League will be his final game in charge as an interim manager. Ruben Amorim will then take over as a permanent manager. There has been speculation about Van Nistelrooy's future at the club with the Portuguese expected to bring his own coaching staff.

When asked if he would like the Dutchman to assist Amorim, Andre Onana said (via Manchester Evening News):

"100 per cent. He's a very good guy, a very good coach and since he's been here, he's helped us a lot. He has so much spirit and he's done amazing since he's here, you know. We have him a few days as a head coach, which is different, but he's done amazing, fantastic and players are happy.
"But at the end of the day, it's not something we can decide because the club make the decisions. We have to accept and this has to be between him and the club because they decide what is best."

As a player, Ruud van Nistelrooy spent five years at Manchester United between 2001 and 2006. He recorded 150 goals and 29 assists in 219 games for the club, winning one Premier League title, among other honors.

Manchester United secure their first Europa League win to continue unbeaten run

The Red Devils were unbeaten in their first three games in the UEFA Europa League this season but were also winless. They played out draws against FC Twente, FC Porto, and Fenerbahce. They then welcomed PAOK at Old Trafford on Thursday, November 7.

It was a goalless first half despite both sides creating good chances to score. Amad Diallo then opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 50th minute before adding another in the 77th minute. The Red Devils had 53% possession and had 4/16 attempts on target as compared to PAOK's 4/8 on target.

Manchester United previously beat Leicester City in the EFL Cup in the Round of 16 and played out a draw in the Premier League against Chelsea. Hence, with the win over PAOK, they are now three games unbeaten. They jumped to 15th place in the Europa League table and are 13th in the Premier League.
