"Another awful performance", "Will never be an elite player" - Fans slam Manchester United star after loss to West Ham

Manchester United fans have blasted Alejandro Garnacho on X after he struggled to make an impact in their 2-1 Premier League loss to West Ham United. The two sides faced each other at the London Stadium on Sunday, October 27.

Garnacho had a massive opportunity to open the scoring for the Red Devils in the second minute, however, his effort crashed against the crossbar. The Argentine could have squared the ball seven minutes later but opted to go for goal, missing the target completely.

Manchester United had a host of big chances after but were thwarted by West Ham United keeper Lukasz Fabianski. The Hammers netted against the run of play in the 74th minute via Crysencio Summerville's low finish into the bottom-left corner. Casemiro leveled the scores seven minutes later with a close-range header to make it 1-1.

However, all hell broke loose in the 90th minute when West Ham were awarded a penalty after Matthijs de Ligt was deemed to have committed a foul on Danny Ings. Despite Manchester United's protests, Jarrod Bowen scored from the spot two minutes later to seal a massive win for the Hammers.

Alejandro Garnacho played all 90 minutes down the left wing but failed to register any of his three shots on target, missing one big chance in the process. The 20-year-old was also unable to complete any of his six crosses and lost two duels.

One Manchester United fan reacted:

"Another awful performance but still plays 90 minutes"

Another fan tweeted:

"Garnacho will never be an elite player. Guy has Scofield tattooed on him."

Check out how other fans reacted below:

"Garnacho sloppy in possession not at all for the first time today has led to that goal. But Rashford the one getting sacrificed every game," one fan commented
"Garnacho is running around doing nothing while Rashford is out of position routinely, game after game, and finds himself interchanging with the RB which is crazy as its not the same on the left. Garnacho shouldn't be starting on the pitch as a left-winger for United," another added
"Garnacho is lowkey a championship player with potential to be maybe as good as the 2nd best version of Nani or so. That player shouldn’t be starting games for Man Utd at this rate so early in his career," one fan insisted
"How Garnacho was kept on the pitch for 90 mins, only Ten Hag can answer that. There's no way we should've lost today," another chimed in
"I’m sick to death of Garnacho idc…," one fan tweeted
