Former Spain legend Sergio Ramos and tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz reacted on social media as La Roja defeated England 2-1 in the Euro 2024 final. Ramos took to X to congratulate the team, calling it another historic day for Spanish sport.

"Come on! The fourth is now ours! 🏆🏆🏆🏆 A deserved Euro Cup from start to finish. Another historic day for Spanish sport. #VamosEspaña" the defender wrote.

Carlos Alcaraz also took to X to congratulate the Spanish national team. The tennis star won the 2024 Wimbledon earlier today (July 14).

"CHAMPIONS! 🇪🇸 CHAMPIONS! 🇪🇸 CHAMPIONS! 🇪🇸 How great you are @SEFutbol !!! ❤️ What a Euro Cup spectacle." Alcaraz wrote.

Things turned around in the Euro 2024 final as Nico Williams scored the first goal of the night for Spain, incredibly set up by Lamine Yamal in the 47th minute.

However, England were not ones to give up, with Cole Palmer equalizing in the 73rd minute. Finally, La Roja made a sensational comeback with Mikel Oyarzabal scoring in the 86th minute to seal the deal for Spain.

Following the victory, La Roja picked up their fourth European Championship trophy and are now the team with the highest number of Euro titles. They won the championship after a 12-year wait, having last won it in 2012.


Lamine Yamal and Rodri win major honors as Spain defeat England in Euro 2024 final

Lamine Yamal was named the Young Player of the Tournament for his exceptional performance in Euro 2024 while Rodri took home the honor for the Player of the Tournament. Meanwhile, Dani Olmo, one of the six highest scorers of the tournament, shared the Golden Boot with five other players, including Harry Kane.

Yamal recorded four assists and one goal in the tournament, with goal contributions in each of the Euro 2024 knockout stages. The 17-year-old Spaniard assisted crucial goals in the Round of 16, quarter-final, and the final of the tournament and found the net once in the semi-final against France.

Meanwhile, Rodri was named the Player of the Tournament owing to his immense contribution to Spain's victory. He is a perfect example of an orchestrator in midfield who links the attack to the defense and incessantly keeps on breaking the attacking lines of the opposition.
