Arsenal attacker's father slams national team boss after his son's poor start to Euro 2024 campaign

Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard's father has slammed Belgium head coach Domenico Tedesco for the 29-year-old's poor start at EURO 2024. Trossard notably started their first group stage game against Slovakia on June 17, where he played 74 minutes and Belgium lost. However, he was benched for their 2-0 win over Romania, coming on as a substitute just before the hour mark.

Before joining up with the Belgium national team, Leandro Trossard was a gem for Arsenal, scoring an impressive 17 goals in all competitions for his club. However, he has, so far, failed to provide the same attacking quality for De Rode Duivels.

There is a debate to be had about what has happened to the winger's form. However, his father Pierre Trossard believes the problem lies with head coach Domenico Tedesco.

In a conversation with Belgian outlet De Morgen, he said (via TBR Football):

“Leandro is criticised, but he was moved from one position to another, it’s difficult to keep a guideline in your game in these conditions. I don’t think Tedesco is a good coach for Belgium, even if he doesn’t have the stubbornness of Roberto Martínez.”

Belgium are currently in a sudden-death group, with all four teams in the group on three points with one game left to play. Their final match against Ukraine could be the deciding factor as they will need a win to ensure they make it through to the knockout stages of EURO 2024.

England legend concerned about Arsenal star amid ongoing EURO 2024

England legend Wayne Rooney is concerned that Three Lions head coach Gareth Southgate will make a mistake with Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka at EURO 2024. Changes could be made ahead of England's final group stage match against Slovenia, and Rooney has revealed his worried that Southgate might drop Saka.

The Three Lions have managed to score only two goals in their first two games of the competition, beating Serbia 1-0 and stumbling with a 1-1 against Denmark. This could see Southgate look to reshuffle the squad and bench the Arsenal winger, as Rooney explained to The TImes (via Metro):

"It wouldn’t surprise me if Gareth Southgate moves Phil Foden to the right, brings in Anthony Gordon and leaves Bukayo Saka out. But I wouldn’t do that because I think Saka has been really good. He has been creative and provided some good balls into the box."

TIme will tell if Gareth Southgate will continue to trust the Arsenal winger, who has already provided an assist in EURO 2024.
