Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta details advice he received from Arsene Wenger amid PL title run in

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed the crucial advice he has received from club legend Arsene Wenger during the Premier League title race.

Arteta played at the club under Wenger and the legendary French manager also made the former midfielder the captain of his team. Wenger is also the last manager to lead the Gunners to the Premier League title.

The north Londoners last won the title back in the 2003-04 season, when they finished the campaign as the invincible, without losing a game. Arteta has now revealed that Wenger has emphasized the importance of winning close games, even if they are by close margins. The Spaniard said (via ESPN):

"I have spoken to him a few times. There were ceratin topics [we discussed] about how they won it and later stages. He used to talk about that when I was a player. For this time of the season, at the end, it is about finding a way to win the game. You can do it in various ways when you look at how they won the titles."

Arteta added:

"And how they won certain games with very, very, close margins. He always talked about that, about the fine margins and who is going to step up on the occasion to make it happen."

Arsenal, despite leading the title race for the majority of last season, choked at the crucial stage of the season. They are currently leading the table and Wenger's advice could prove to be valuable advice for Arteta.
