Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United handed fresh boost in race to sign Serie A star: Reports
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all keen on signing Juventus attacker Dusan Vlahovic. It now appears that they have been handed a fresh boost for doing so, according to TBR Football (via The Hard Tackle). Reports suggest that Vlahovic may be on the way out from Juventus due to his high wages.
The striker earns £200,000-a-week wages at Juventus, and the Serie A club will be forced to sell him because of that. It is learnt that the Serbian is not keen on taking a pay cut, and this may lead him to get offloaded in the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old, however, will attract a lot of interest in the market.
Manchester United are rebuilding under their new head coach Ruben Amorim, and can be expected to go for Vlahovic. The latter has done relatively well for Juventus, scoring 50 goals in 118 appearances after the 49 he scored for Fiorentina in 108 matches.
This season, Vlahovic has found the back of the net six times in the Serie A, and also provided his team with an assist. Chelsea and Arsenal, who are also looking for attacking options in the transfer market, will be keen on lapping him up. A move away from Juventus might open up new possibilities for Vlahovic.
Manchester United will face stiff competition for Vlahovic's signature
Manchester United are not the sole English club keen on getting Vlahovic's signature. Chelsea, who want to add some depth alongside the talented Nicolas Jackson, will give them stiff competition. Arsenal, who have not been pleased with Gabriel Jesus' returns this season (0 goals in 12 Premier League matches), too, are tough competitors.
Juventus will be desperate to offload Vlahovic given that he is eating up into their reserves. Manchester United will want someone to partner Rasmus Hojlund up front, especially if the future of Joshua Zirkzee appears to be in doubt under Amorim.
