Arsenal defender calls Jakub Kiwior 'boring' on Instagram amid rumors linking him with Emirates exit

Arsenal star Ben White has labelled Jakub Kiwior 'boring' after the Pole shared two images from his team's recent friendly clash on Instagram.

Earlier this Saturday (July 27), the Gunners recorded a 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Manchester United in Los Angeles, United States. Rasmus Hojlund netted the opener, while Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli got a goal each on either side of the half-time break.

Kiwior, who arrived from Spezia in a move worth up to £21 million in January 2023, featured as a second-half substitute in Arsenal's latest win. The 24-year-old shared two images on Instagram later on.

White poked fun at Kiwior, who decided against posting a caption, by commenting just one word under his Instagram post. He simply wrote:

"Boring."

Kiwior, meanwhile, has reportedly been linked with a move away from the Gunners this summer. The versatile centre-back has agreed to join Serie A champions Inter Milan, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

So far, Kiwior has made 38 total appearances for Mikel Arteta's side.

Arsenal to launch move for Euro 2024 star after securing Riccardo Calafiori's services

In his Daily Briefing column for Caught Offside, journalist Fabrizio Romano insisted that Arsenal will pursue Real Sociedad star Mikel Merino's signature after roping in Riccardo Calafiori. He wrote:

"The player is in London, everything is okay between Arsenal and Bologna in terms of exchanging and sending all the documents, they are signing the contracts, and then Calafiori will have his medical in London. He will then travel to the US to link up with Mikel Arteta's squad and sign his contract until 2029, with no option for a further season beyond that. He's set to earn £3.4 million-a-season."

Providing insight into the Gunners' transfer plans, Romano added:

"After that, Arsenal will focus on Mikel Merino. They have been having conversations on the player side and they are prepared to attack the situation on the club side as well once they've completed the formal part of the Calafiori deal. There's still no official bid from [the Gunners] to Real Sociedad, while we also know about interest from Spanish clubs Barcelona and Atletico Madrid."

Merino, 28, turned heads with his performances for Spain at the UEFA Euro 2024. He scored one goal in seven matches at the tournament.

A left-footed box-to-box midfielder, Merino has recorded 27 goals and 30 assists in 242 appearances in all competitions for Real Sociedad.
