Arsenal learn transfer price for player they want to sign to replace injured Bukayo Saka in January: Reports
Arsenal have reportedly learned what it will cost them to land West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, who they consider as a potential Bukayo Saka replacement. The Ghanaian midfielder has turned heads since swapping Ajax for London and is on the radar of the Gunners.
England international Saka is regarded as one of the best players in the Premier League and has the numbers to back up this claim, with 15 goal contributions this season. The 23-year-old is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after tearing his hamstring in the game against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
West Ham midfielder Kudus is wanted by several top sides in England and has a release clause of £85 million, which will only be activated in the summer. A report from GiveMeSport has revealed that the Hammers will request a fee in the region of £100 million to sell the star midfielder in the January transfer window.
Like the rest of the West Ham squad, Mohammed Kudus has not been at his best this season. The Ghana international has scored three goals and provided an assist for the Hammers in 12 league appearances this season. He managed eight goals and six assists in 33 appearances in the Premier League in his debut season.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may consider the former Ajax man to be too expensive and lean on players in his squad for cover for Saka. The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Trossard, and Gabriel Martinelli can serve as wing options for the Gunners while Saka remains out.
Arsenal likely to be offered France star in January - Reports
Arsenal are likely to be offered France international Randal Kolo Muani on a temporary basis in the January transfer window, as per Simon Collings for Standard Sport. The Gunners are in need of attacking depth following injuries to both Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling in the space of a week.
PSG forward Kolo Muani is in his second season at the Parc des Princes following a €90 million move from Frankfurt, but appears now to be out of favour at the club. With manager Luis Enrique giving him only 453 minutes so far this season, the 26-year-old Frenchman will likely look to make an exit in the January transfer window.
Kolo Muani will be an interesting option for Arsenal, who were not willing to enter the January transfer market prior to their latest injuries. They may sign the forward, who has made just two starts this season, on loan with a view of making his deal permanent in the summer.
