Arsenal scouting £50 million winger who has been compared to Nico Williams - Reports

Arsenal have set their sights on Jamie Gittens, according to Caught Offside. The English forward has caught the eye with Borussia Dortmund this season and is also being monitored by Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

The 20-year-old left forward has appeared 10 times across competitions this season, registering four goals and three assists. His efforts have already seen him compared to Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams.

His exploits have forced the Emirates hierarchy to take note. Arsenal have assembled a talented bunch of players in the past few years but remain on the hunt for further reinforcements.

The Gunners are looking for a new No. 9 in 2025, but also want to add more quality to their left-forward position. The north London side have Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli for the role.

However, Gittens could be an upgrade on the duo and could sort the position for a decade. The Englishman is under contract at the Signal Iduna Park until 2028, so prising him away won't be easy.

Borussia Dortmund consider him a key part of their plans and have no desire to let him go at the moment. Only an offer of €60m (£50m) or higher could tempt them to change their stance. Meanwhile, Arsenal will also face competition from Tottenham Hotspur for the Englishman.

However, the Gunners will be tempted to pay big money on attacking additions in 2025. The north London side struggled to break down Bournemouth in the absence of Bukayo Saka on Saturday (October 19). A player like Gittens could add another dimension to Arsenal's attack.

Arsenal have registered five wins in eight games in the Premier League this season. Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth was their first in all competitions this season.

Mikel Arteta's team has scored 15 goals and conceded just eight in the league so far. The Gunners have seven wins in 11 games across competitions this season in total.

The north London side are fighting for the Premier League once again this season after narrowly missing out last year. However, they could face tough competition from Liverpool in the title race.

The Reds have sizzled this season under Arne Slot, winning six of their seven games in the league, scoring 13 goals and conceding just two. Ruling out reigning champions Manchester City won't be wise either, with Pep Guardiola's side motivated to make it a record-extending five back-to-back title triumphs.
