WATCH: Eden Hazard screams in pain as Rudiger takes him down with horror tackle during pre-season training

New Real Madrid signing Antonio Rudiger appears to have injured his former Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard during their pre-season training session on Friday. While Rudiger is yet to make his debut for Los Blancos following his free transfer from Stamford Bridge, Hazard has been at Madrid since 2019.

However, their reunion hasn't gone off to the best start, as a strong challenge from Rudiger in training brought down the 31-year-old forward. It is unclear if Hazard was injured in the challenge. It could be a source of worry ahead of their pre-season friendly against El Clasico rivals Barcelona on Saturday.

During a training session, the German defender lunged in with a tackle to win the ball from his Belgian teammate, but his foot went into Hazard's ankle instead. Other Real Madrid players can be seen reacting to Hazard's audible scream in the video, which was shared on Twitter:

This could be a source of concern for Real Madrid fans, who have watched Eden Hazard struggle with injuries since his expensive move to the Santiago Bernabeu. The star has had an uphill battle with fitness at Madrid and has missed over 70 games due to injuries.

Since his move to Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2019 in a deal worth £103.5 million, Hazard has only scored six goals and laid out 10 assists. He has been unable to replicate the brilliant form that saw him thrive while at Stamford Bridge. The winger scored 110 goals and provided 92 assist in 351 appearances for Chelsea, becoming a club legend in the process.

Only days ago, he reported for training in tip-top form, according to reports. However, after the tackle by Rudiger, it is uncertain where his fitness levels are currently.
