Arsenal star Jorginho names event at the Olympics that will likely help him win a medal; his answer cracks up Martin Odegaard in hilarious video
Arsenal star Jorginho has left Martin Odegaard in stitches while naming an Olympic event where he would most likely win a medal. He picked Sprint as his sport.
The Gunners signed Jorginho from Chelsea in January 2023 for a reported £12 million fee. He arrived at the Emirates with abundant experience in the Premier League with Chelsea and in the Serie A with Napoli. He won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana with Napoli before joining Chelsea. He then went on to win the Champions League, the Europa League, the UEFA Supercup, and the FIFA Club World Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian midfielder has been known for his technical prowess and football IQ. These were especially on display when he helped Chelsea lift the Champions League trophy in 2021. He also played a crucial role in Italy's triumph at the 2020 European Championships as well that year.
Pace is hardly a word one would use to describe the midfielder's strengths. Jorginho, however, had used it in jest when he was asked a question about the Olympics.
During an interview, Jorginho was asked to name an event at the next Olympics where he could win a medal if he had the time to prepare. He told Arsenal's in-house media:
"Sprint!"
Jorginho's response had the Gunners skipper Martin Odegaard in tears, as can be seen in the video below:
Louis Saha makes Premier League title prediction involving Arsenal
Former Manchester United star Louis Saha does not see Arsenal winning the Premier League this season. The retired striker has backed Manchester City to secure their fifth consecutive title this term.
The Gunners came close to ending their long drought for a league title over the last two seasons. However, Mikel Arteta's men finished second in both campaigns as Manchester City won it back-to-back.
The north London side have now signed Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and have secured David Raya on a permanent deal this summer. However, Saha believes these reinforcements will not suffice to triumph over Pep Guardiola's side. He said (via DAZN):
"For me, the Premier League table has an obvious order this season. Manchester City are so comfortable and have a squad that fits all the requirements, even though Arsenal have played some great football, they won’t have enough - despite adding quality to their squad."
"I think Manchester City will win the title and Liverpool and Arsenal will be just behind."
The Gunners will face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, August 17 in their first match of the season.
