Ballon d'Or 2024: Ranking 11 to 15 revealed as Phil Foden finishes above Nico Williams
France Football are currently unveiling the 2024 men's Ballon d'Or Top 30 and have released the 11th to 15th ranked players, with Phil Foden (#11) finishing above Nico Williams (#15). The award is set to be presented tonight (October 28) in Paris.
Nico Williams was ranked 15th in France Football's rankings. The Athletic Bilbao winger recorded eight goals and 19 assists in 37 appearances for the LaLiga side last season. He won the Copa del Rey with Athletic Bilbao and the 2024 Euros with Spain, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman finished 14th in the Ballon d'Or rankings, recording 17 goals and 10 assists in 45 appearances for the Serie A side. He also won the Europa League with the club and scored a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
Barcelona star Dani Olmo is ranked 13th in the rankings, after winning the 2024 Euros with Spain. He recorded three goals and two assists in the tournament. The Spaniard also recorded eight goals and five assists in 25 outings for RB Leipzig last season before joining Barcelona in the summer of 2024.
Florian Wirtz is ranked 12th in the list after a stellar season with Bayer Leverkusen. He recorded 18 goals and 20 assists in 49 appearances for the club, alongside winning the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal. He also reached the Euro 2024 quarter-final with Germany.
In 11th place, France Football ranked Manchester City star Phil Foden. The Englishman recorded 27 goals and 12 assists in 53 appearances for City. He won the Premier League and UEFA Super Cup with the English giants. Foden also reached the Euro 2024 final with England but lost 2-1 to Spain.
Vinicius Jr. set to miss Ballon d'Or ceremony amid speculation of Rodri winning over him: Reports
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. will not travel to Paris for the Ballon d'Or ceremony amid reports of him missing out on the coveted award. The Brazil international was a major favorite to win the award this year.
However, hours ahead of the event, reports emerged that Manchester City midfielder Rodri will win the Ballon d'Or ahead of Vinicius Jr.
Romano further reported that Real Madrid's delegation will not attend France Football's event in Paris. Coach Carlo Ancelotti, president Florentino Perez and fellow nominees, including Jude Bellingham, will also reportedly miss the event.
Vinicius Jr. had a stellar 2023-24 season with Real Madrid, winning the UEFA Champions League, LaLiga and Supercopa de Espana. In 39 appearances for Los Blancos, he recorded 24 goals and 11 assists.
