A L'Equipe report has revealed the winning margin of 2024 Ballon d'Or winner Rodri over runner-up Vinicius Junior. The Spaniard won this year's prestigious individual owner ahead of Real Madrid attacker Vinicius.
The Brazilian had a solid 2023-24 season with Los Blancos, registering 24 goals and 11 assists in 39 games across competitions. His efforts helped Carlo Ancelotti's side win three titles, including a second La Liga-UEFA Champions League double in three years.
Meanwhile, Rodri had a solid season of his own with Manchester City. The Spanish midfielder bagged nine goals and 14 assists in 50 games across competitions. He helped City win an unprecedented fourth straight Premier League title before winning Euro 2024 with Spain, scoring once in six games.
It has now emerged that the 2024 Ballon d'Or race was a close one, with L'Equipe tweeting (as translated from French) that Rodri's winning margin was just 41 points:

Rodri's Ballon d'Or win marks the first by a Premier League player since Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008. Meanwhile, Vinicius was looking to become Los Blancos' fourth different Ballon d'Or winner in eight years, one of them being Ronaldo.
How 2024 Ballon d'Or winner Rodri and runner-up Vinicius Junior have fared this season?
Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Junior has had a good start to the ongoing season. In 16 games across competitions, the 24-year-old has registered nine goals and seven assists.
Five of those goals and six assists have come in 11 outings in La Liga, where Los Blancos are second, nine points behind runaway leaders Barcelona (33), but have game in hand. He has also scored four times in the UEFA Champions League, including a hat-trick in the 5-2 come-from-behind home win over Borussia Dortmund last month.
Meanwhile, Rodri has played just thrice across competitions this season for City before his season was cut short due to an ACL injury. City have acutely felt his absence, losing three games on the trot ahead of their Premier League trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday (November 9).
