Barcelona boss Hansi Flick shares what he told Lamine Yamal after Champions League win over Brest as attacker continues to be sidelined with injury

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has confirmed that Lamine Yamal will return in the LaLiga game against Las Palmas on Saturday (November 30). The 17-year-old is out with an ankle injury.

Yamal missed the Catalans' 3-0 win over Stade Brestois on Tuesday (November 26) in the Champions League. Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for the LaLiga giants with a 10th-minute penalty kick.

Dani Olmo doubled the score in the 66th minute before the veteran Pole scored his second goal of the night in the second minute of injury time. The win helped Barcelona move up to second place on the Champions League table.

Speaking after the game, Flick said Lamine Yamal will resume training on Wednesday.

“I told Lamine Yamal that I hope he’ll be with us on Saturday. He’ll train with us tomorrow,” Flick said (via Barca Blaugranes).

The Spaniard hasn't featured for the Catalans since the Champions League game against Red Star earlier this month (November 6). The teenager missed the 1-0 defeat against Real Sociedad (November 10) and was initially expected to be back after the international break.

However, his return was delayed and he has since missed the 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo (November 23) as well as this week's game. Yamal is one of the most exciting young talents in the land and has hit a higher gear under Hansi Flick this season.

The Spaniard has registered six goals and eight assists in 16 games for Barcelona this campaign. He has been part of a new-look attack, comprising Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, that has blown the opposition away. As such, the Catalans are eager to have him back to full fitness.
