Barcelona forward admits he grew up idolizing Cristiano Ronaldo
Barcelona's Vitor Roque has stated that Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo is his idol. Roque is currently playing for Real Betis on a season-long loan deal from La Blaugrana.
The Brazilian forward joined Barcelona from Athletico Paranaense in January 2024. Vitor Roque only made 16 appearances for the Camp Nou outfit across competitions, bagging two goals before he was loaned to Real Betis.
During an interview with El Chiringuito, the 19-year-old was asked about his football idol. Vitor Roque named former Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo. The 19-year-old also stated that he likes compatriot and former La Blaugrana star Neymar. Roque said (via Barca Universal):
"My idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. I also like Neymar."
In 14 appearances for Betis across competitions, the 19-year-old has scored five goals. Earlier this month, he scored a brace against CD Gevora in the first-round of the Copa del Rey.
Vitor Roque has started seven out of Real Betis' 10 LaLiga games this season and has established himself as an important part of Manuel Pellegrini's first XI. At the end of the loan deal, Real Betis will have an option to buy the 19-year-old Brazilian for €25 million.
Barcelona suffer major blow as top transfer target keen to stay in Bundesliga
Barcelona target Leroy Sane has stated that he's comfortable in Munich and is in talks regarding a contract extension with the Bundesliga giants. The former Manchester City attacker's current contract with Bayern Munich will expire next summer.
Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski have performed exceptionally well in the 2024-25 campaign under Hansi Flick. However, Barcelona lack depth in forward areas as Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati are expected to leave the side in the upcoming transfer windows.
As a result, Leroy Sane, Mohamed Salah, Nico Williams, and Rafael Leao have been on Barcelona's radar, as per reports. However, Sane has stated that he is "comfortable" in the German capital. He said (via Barca Universal):
"We are in talks, I feel comfortable in Munich. I feel really comfortable. Talks are very good. My focus is currently only on FC Bayern."
Sane joined Bayern from Manchester City in July 2020. Since then, he has made 186 appearances for the side, bagging 51 goals and 50 assists across all competitions. This season, he has played 11 matches, bagging three goals.
