Barcelona look to beat Manchester United in race for 18-year-old wonderkid targeted by plethora of European clubs: Reports

According to a report by the Boot Room, Manchester United and Barcelona are set to battle for the signature of Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan. The 18-year-old is an exciting prospect at club level and has attracted interest from the two European giants following his impressive performances.

After rising through the Rosenborg youth ranks, Nypan joined the first team in 2022. The Norwegian has played 60 times for his boyhood club, scoring 13 times and providing 11 assists.

The report suggests the Norwegian side hopes to acquire the young midfielder for £10 million. The price tag has attracted interest in his services across Europe. In addition to Manchester United and Barcelona, he is reportedly on the radar of Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund.

The Red Devils are believed to hold the advantage in the race for his signature and could potentially sign the talented midfielder during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Barcelona keen to sign Manchester United star- Reports

According to a report on Eurosport, Barcelona are keen to sign Manchester United star Marcus Rashford. The Englishman has made headlines after he told Henry Winter in a recent interview that he would be open to leaving the club.

The 27-year-old came through the Red Devils academy and has gone on to score 138 times and provide 63 assists in 426 games. Since breaking into the first team in 2016, he has helped the side win two FA Cups, two League cups, and one UEFA Europa League title.

Rashford is said to be a poor fit for newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim's tactical setup. He has failed to make the bench in the team's last two games. His availability is said to have piqued the interest of Barcelona, which is looking to strengthen its wide areas.

The report suggests that Blaugrana could send one of Ronald Araujo or Frenkie de Jong to Manchester United if Rashford and cash are offered. The offer could tempt Ruben Amorim's side, which has long been linked with a move for de Jong and needs defensive reinforcements due to the Portuguese tactician's preference for playing a back three.

The 60-time English international remains contracted to the Red Devils until the summer of 2028.
