Barcelona make contact with Manchester United over surprise deal for 27-year-old star in January: Reports
Spanish giants Barcelona have reportedly made contact with Manchester United over a loan deal for Marcus Rashford. As reported by Football Transfers via Caught Offside, the Catalan giants want the England international in an initial loan deal with an option to buy for £35 million.
Rashford finds himself out of favor at Old Trafford following the arrival of Ruben Amorim at the hot seat. The Portuguese manager left the 27-year-old out of his matchday squads in Manchester United's last two games.
It has been claimed that Rashford has decided to call it time on his stint at Old Trafford after spending his entire career at the club. Things have not gone his way over the last couple of seasons after what was the best season of his career in 2022-23.
As per the aforementioned report, Barcelona have offered Rashford an exit route from Camp Nou. While Manchester United do not like the offered the £35 million potential fee, they have made Rashford aware of the interest.
Rashford is believed to be keen on moving to a club like Barcelona's stature and testing himself in a new league. The fleet-footed attacker has spent his entire career with the Red Devils and has made 426 senior appearances for the club having produced 138 goals and 63 assists.

Spanish giants Barcelona are reportedly plotting a move for Xavi Simons who has been heavily linked with Manchester United in recent months. As reported by David Ornstein via Reshad Rehman on X, the Blaugrana are believed to be keen to reunite with their former academy graduate.
Simons spent the formative years of his youth career at Barcelona but was snapped up by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2019. The Dutchman, currently at RB Leipzig on loan from PSG, has since made a name for himself as one of the most exciting young players on the planet.
Simons has been excellent for RB Leipzig on loan since the summer of 2023 where he has produced 13 goals and 17 assists in 54 games. He is capable of playing either as a number ten or on either flank and even as a second striker.
The 21-year-old has no shortage of suitors for his services including the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool. The Red Devils reportedly made a failed approach to land the Netherlands international in the summer.
