Barcelona star Lamine Yamal and Alex Padilla unfollow each other on Instagram
Barcelona and Spain gem Lamine Yamal is once again in the news across the world. The teenage sensation is on a well-deserved holiday after a terrific breakout year for club and country but is now in the limelight for off-the-pitch reasons.
After the Euro 2024 final against England, Lamine Yamal was spotted with a young lady on the pitch who was later revealed to be Spanish influencer, Alex Padilla. The 17-year-old was spotted clicking several pictures with her, with she also wearing a jersey with the name 'Yamal.'
Alex Padilla, a TikTok influencer from Spain, has more than 750,000 followers as reported by GOAL. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the football star unfollowed her on Instagram, and she has also returned the favor.
On the pitch though, Yamal shone for his country and a major force behind their record-fourth European Championship triumph. The teenager scored one goal, a sumptuous match-winning outside-the-box curler against France in 2-1 semifinal win. He also gave four assists in the tournament, one of which came in the final against England for Nico Williams' opening goal.
He was aptly named the 'Euro 2024 Young Player of the Tournament' for his exploits.
Lamine Yamal misses out on Barcelona squad for pre-season tour
Spanish teenage star Lamine Yamal will not feature for Barcelona during their pre-season tour of the USA after he was left out of the squad. The 17-year-old forward was granted an extended leave before pre-season.
Yamal resumed pre-season late last summer after representing Spain at the U-17 Euros. The teenage star was pivotal for the senior national team as they claimed a fourth European Championship title. This came after he shone for Barcelona in the 2023-24 season with seven goals and nine assists in 50 games across competitions.
The official list from manager Hansi Flick excluded the youngster, alongside the likes of Gavi, Pedri and Ronald Araujo, all of whom are nursing injuries. Barcelona will face Manchester City, Real Madrid and AC Milan in the USA before returning to Spain.
