Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski shares 14-word answer when asked to state 3 reasons behind superb form this season

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski revealed the reason behind his amazing form this season, although in a joking way. After an underwhelming season under Xavi Hernandez last season, Lewandowski seems to have found his groove under new manager Hansi Flick, as he is currently in hot form.

The Polish forward last displayed his lethalness in front of goal in Barcelona’s emphatic victory against Deportivo Alaves in La Liga on Sunday (October 6). He scored a sensational first-half hattrick to inspire his side to a 3-0 victory and keep them at the summit of the La Liga table going into the international break.

Following his hattrick against Alaves, he now leads the charts of the top scorers in La Liga this season with 10 goals.

Ahead of Poland’s clash with Portugal in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday (October 12), Robert Lewandowski was asked a plethora of questions in a press conference. One of the questions to Lewandowski was three reasons behind his incredible form this season. He responded (via Barca Universal):

“My name is Robert, I play for Barcelona, I attack and I score goals.”

Lewandowski was also asked about who the best player in the world is right now.

“Who are you waiting for? Do you want me to be the best player? You can choose, no problem. My opinion doesn’t matter. Thank you,” he replied.

Robert Lewandowski joined Barcelona in 2022 after a successful spell in Bayern Munich for a reported fee of €45 million. In his two years at La Blaugrana, he has scored 71 goals and provided 19 assists in 106 appearances across competitions.

Hansi Flick says Robert Lewandowski is the ‘best player’ after Barcelona secured 3-0 win over Deportivo Alaves

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick praised Robert Lewandowski's performance after his side secured a comfortable win over Deportivo Alaves, with the Pole scoring a hattrick. After the match, Flick was stunned by Lewandowski’s performance and opined that he is the ‘best payer’.

Barcelona traveled to Mendizorrotza for their ninth La Liga game of the 2024-25 season. As expected, they started the game strongly, as they had one of their goals ruled out for offside in the fourth minute.

However, Lewandowski made sure the next goal stood, as he scored three minutes later. The Polish forward doubled his tally in the 22nd minute and completed his hat trick before the break to singlehandedly secure all three points for the Catalan club.

Speaking to the press after the match, Flick praised Lewandowski’s performance and said (via TNT Sports):

"Everyone supports Lewy and he knows what to do in the box - in front of the goal he's the best player for me. He's been amazing over such a [long] period, to score so many goals, it's very good. I am very happy with him. You can see he's 100% fit and the other team-mates are supporting him really good."
