Fans were left in awe after watching Barcelona midfielder Pedri dominate the middle of the park for his side against Real Madrid. La Blaugrana ran out comfortable 4-0 winners in the first El Clasico of the season to open up a six-point gap atop the standings.

Both sides came into the game on the back of impressive midweek performances in the UEFA Champions League against sides from the Bundesliga. Barcelona's young core played out a 4-1 win over Bayern Munich, while Real Madrid came from two goals down to inflict a 5-2 defeat upon Borussia Dortmund.

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick named an unchanged XI for his first El Clasico in charge of the club, keeping his high-flying stars in the squad. Twenty-one-year-old midfielder Pedri looks like has has finally put his injury problems behind him, and made his 11th league appearance of the season.

Pedri had a game to remember against Real Madrid as he helped his side coast to a comfortable win at the Santiago Bernabeu. The midfielder recorded a 92% pass completion in the game, and created one chance. He also made eight recoveries and carried out four defensive actions.

Robert Lewandowski inspires Barcelona to win over Real Madrid

Robert Lewandowski was in fine form in front of goal as he helped his Barcelona side claim a convincing 4-0 win over Real Madrid. The Poland icon scored a brace to set his side on their way to a statement win.

After a scoreless first half, Lewandowski latched on to a perfectly weighted pass from Marc Casado before finishing calmly in the 54th minute. The forward scored his second of the night and 14th of the LaLiga season two minutes later with a fine header off an Alejandro Balde cross.

Not to be left out of the party, 17-year-old Lamine Yamal added his name to the scoresheet in the 77th minute with a fine strike on his weaker side. Raphinha scored a cheeky lob in the 84th minute to round off the scoring and send his side six points clear of Real.
