Arsenal fans on X have hailed Bukayo Saka after he put in an outstanding performance in their 3-1 Premier League win against Southampton. The two sides faced each other at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, October 5.

After a fairly uneventful first half, the Saints took a shock lead against the run of play in the 55th minute as Cameron Archer scored following a counter-attack. However, the Gunners responded just three minutes later when Saka won possession in the middle and assisted Kai Havertz to make it 1-1.

Saka got his second assist of the game in the 68th minute. The England international delivered an accurate cross from the right to the back post, leading to Gabriel Martinelli tapping home after he timed his run to perfection. Southampton were unfortunate to hit the woodwork twice soon after. Saka then found the bottom-left corner with a good finish (88') to seal all three points for Arsenal.

The 23-year-old was a constant threat down the right wing, garnering a match rating of 9.3 as per FotMob. The Arsenal winger scored one goal, provided two assists, created seven chances, and completed 35 passes from an attempted 39 with an accuracy of 90 percent.

Moreover, Saka has had an excellent start to the season, scoring three goals and providing seven assists in 10 appearances across all competitions. One Arsenal fan reacted by posting:

How did Arsenal fare in their 3-1 win against Southampton?

Arsenal showed great resilience to come back from behind to secure a 3-1 win against Southampton. They are currently third in the league standings with 17 points from seven games, one point behind leaders Liverpool.

The Gunners dominated possession with 59 percent of the ball, completing 480 passes with an accuracy of 90 percent. Meanwhile, the visitors had 41 percent possession and completed 327 passes with an accuracy of 85 percent.

Arsenal also looked much more threatening in attack, landing 29 shots in total with six being on target, garnering an xG of 2.58. In contrast, the Saints had eight attempts in total with two being on target (xG of 0.60). However, Southampton also missed two big chances, striking the post twice, which changed the course of the game in the second half.
