"Better than Havertz", "Finesse is in his genes" - Fans react as video of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in France U-21 training comes to light

A recent clip of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has come to light and fans can't stop lauding about it. The clip belongs to a practice session of the French Under-21 squad. In the video, the 46-year-old showed his finesse in front of the goal years after his retirement.

The 11-second clip shows Henry taking two strikes at the goal. The first one is from the 12-yard spot, and the Frenchman bamboozled the keeper with a clever trickery with his feet. However, the main prowess of Thierry Henry is on display in the second strike. He curls the ball inwards with his right foot and it enters the net through the left corner.

The clip has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter) and fans have been raving about it on social media. Many have compared him with Arsenal strikers of today and even commented that the Frenchman could fit into any starting XI even now. Some of the comments are as follows:

"Better than Havertz and Jesus," commented one fan on X.

"One the greatest strikers in the world," lauded another.
"Finesse is in his genes," opined another fan on X.

One fan also analyzed Henry's gameplay when he was at his peak. They commented that he would be better than even Kylian Mbappe if he were to play today.

"Thierry Henry was an absolute menace in his time. He had the pace, the skill. What couldn't he do. Gave defenders a lot of trouble man. Do y'all think Mbappe is better? Cause I don't think so," opined that fan.
"Thierry Henry rn work into any top team starting XI in Europe," agreed another.
"CLASS IS PERMANENT," commented another fan on X.

Another fan called him the 'Premier League GOAT' while another fan asked whether his penalty kick was in accordance with today's rules and regulations.

"Is the first kick allowed in penalty shootout," questioned one fan.
"He is him, I'm afraid. The Premier League GOAT," declared one netizen.
"At 40+ he’s still better than most strikers currently," inferred another.

Henry scored 360 goals and provided 171 assists in 794 games in his club career across different levels. He won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and many more trophies with the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona.
