Brazilian legend Rivaldo urges Manchester United duo to leave the club this summer

Brazil legend Rivaldo has advised Casemiro and Antony to leave Manchester United in the summer. He believes his compatriots should leave the Premier League to revive their careers.

The Red Devils signed Casemiro and Antony in the 2022 summer transfer window. They brought in the former from Real Madrid for £70 million and the latter from Ajax for £85 million. The Brazilian duo have struggled to meet the expectations that come attached with such substantial amounts and have been criticized.

Rivaldo, however, insists that they remain top players who've suffered in a struggling Manchester United side. He told Betfair (via GOAL):

"I still say Manchester United winger Antony is a great player. He's already played in a World Cup for Brazil and he's still young with plenty of football to play. He's currently at a club that's been going through difficult times for a while now, so in my opinion leaving England could be good for him."

He added:

"Moving to a side in Spain, Germany or Italy could be fundamental for his progression now. With his skills and the football that he can play, I think that he would fit very well into any big team in Spain, for example.
"It could be good for him to go to a club where he can return to playing regularly and aim to get back into the Brazilian team. Who knows, maybe in 2026 he can play in another World Cup."

The former Barcelona star added on Casemiro:

"As mentioned, Manchester United are not the club they once were. The club is going through difficulties, and it is unfair that Casemiro is criticised for that. It is up to the club to put together a strong squad and then it depends on all the players performing so that they can compete for titles.
"I've heard rumours that he could go to Saudi Arabia, but if he wants to play in a World Cup, he must go back to Spain, or move to Italy, and compete at the highest level because he still has the skills necessary for that."

Casemiro's contract with Manchester United is set to expire in 2026 while Antony's deal runs until the following year.

"It really hasn’t worked out for him" - Dwight Yorke says Manchester United star Casemiro 'wants a new start' in the summer

Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has claimed that Casemiro has had enough of his time at Old Trafford. The pundit believes the Brazilian midfielder is keen on leaving the club in the summer.

Casemiro has registered 31 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists. While admitting how difficult it is to criticize the veteran, Yorke couldn't help but point out his subpar performances this season. He said (via GOAL):

"It's hard to criticise Casemiro because of what he’s achieved in the game, but people should expect better from him in a Manchester United shirt."
"It really hasn’t worked out for him this season after such a good first year with the club and he isn’t getting any younger – he looks like he’s had enough and he wants a new start at another club next season."

United are eighth in the Premier League table, level on points with Newcastle United (7th) and three points behind Chelsea (6th). They will face Brighton & Hove Albion away on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday, May 19.
