Breaking: Cristiano Ronaldo equals record for most goals in a Saudi Pro League season after giving Al-Nassr lead vs Al-Ittihad

Cristiano Ronaldo has equaled the record for most goals scored in a single Saudi Pro League season.

The Portugal captain netted his 34th SPL goal of the season against Al-Ittihad. Ronaldo is now level with Abderrazak Hamdallah, who reached the mark in 27 matches in the 2018-19 season.

Ronaldo found the back of the net in the injury time of first-half (45+3') with a cheeky finish, marking his 34th SPL goal in his 31st appearance this season. He had found the back of the net minutes earlier from a Sadio Mane pass. However, the effort was ruled out due to offside. Ronaldo, though, eventually got his goal in injury time, giving Al-Nassr a 1-0 lead.

Ronaldo has now scored 43 goals in 44 appearances across competitions this season, while also having 13 assists to his name. The 39-year-old continues to be a force to be reckoned with.

Cristiano Ronaldo's record interestingly comes against Hamdallah's current side, Al-Ittihad. The Moroccan, however, is not in the Al-Ittihad squad due to an injury.
