Breaking: Lionel Messi victim of relentless boos in PSG vs Bordeaux clash
Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) Ligue 1 encounter against Bordeaux has been marred by a spout of loud booes for Lionel Messi and Neymar, with Kylian Mbappe, on the other hand, being cheered by the fans. The French club's UEFA Champions League exit against Real Madrid has not gone down well with the PSG fans, with Messi and Neymar producing disappointing performances against Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mbappe, on the other hand, scored home and away against the record European champions, with the French attacker one of few players who left with his head held high for his performances over two legs.
Messi's PSG journey has been underwhelming so far
Messi has scored just two Ligue 1 goals for PSG since his move from Barcelona last summer and has not lived up to his lofty standards. As for Neymar, the Brazilian has struggled with injuries and inconsistency and is slowly losing his stature among PSG fans.
PSG currently lead Bordeaux 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mbappe and look well set to regain their Ligue 1 crown from Lille, having opened up a 12 point lead at the summit.
Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum was also another victim of boos from PSG fans, with the former Liverpool man also struggling to make a name for himself after sealing a move to the Parc des Princes last summer.
