"Can’t rely on him for 90 minutes", "Silly mistakes every game" - Chelsea fans unhappy with star after 1-1 Manchester United draw

Chelsea fans took to social media to criticize goalkeeper Robert Sanchez after he conceded a penalty in their 1-1 draw against Manchester United. The two sides had to share the spoils in their Premier League match at Old Trafford on Sunday (November 3).

The first-half ended 0-0 as both teams squandered presentable opportunities to open the scoring. However, Sanchez fouled Red Devils striker Rasmus Hojlund in the 68th minute, missing the ball completely. The referee pointed to the spot, and Bruno Fernandes buried his effort from 12 yards to put Manchester United ahead (70').

Chelsea pulled together and joined forces in search of an equalizer, and they were rewarded only four minutes later. After a corner was cleared by Casemiro, Moises Caicedo volleyed the ball into the bottom corner (74') from the edge of the box.

Both teams had opportunities to grab the winner, but the match ended in a draw eventually. Chelsea fans were not happy with Sanchez's error in conceding the penalty. He made three important saves in the game to keep Manchester United at bay, but his error cost the team.

Chelsea fans took to social media platform X, slamming the goalkeeper with comments like these:

"Sanchez good performance before the penalty but that’s exactly the type of player we have. You can’t rely on him for 90 minutes. And that once again has cost us. That’s not on Maresca that’s on Ben Roberts and the recruitment," a fan complained.
"You don't win titles with goalkeepers like Robert Sanchez, end of story," another claimed.
"Bro man come on this guy is so bad," another agreed.
"Silly mistakes every time," another was concerned.
"Has to get benched for the next 5 or 6 games. Jorgensen needs a run," a fan demanded.
"Worst GK ever to start for us," another fan said.

Chelsea boss pleased with midfielder's performance in 1-1 draw against Manchester United

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was pleased with Moises Caicedo's performance in their 1-1 draw against Manchester United. Speaking about the midfielder after the game, the Italian tactician said (via football.london):

"Since we arrived, Moi [Moises Caicedo] is doing fantastic. I said during the week, the problem with Moi and Enzo [Fernandez] - these kind of players - is probably the big money the club paid. Everyone expects them to be the best but they are human and it is normal."
"Moi is improving a lot. We are spending time with him and the rest to improve them."

Caicedo was one of the best players on the pitch for the Blues. He scored the equalizing goal, made two successful dribbles, and won two tackles. He also won nine duels. The 23-year-old will hope he can improve on this performance in the coming games this season.
