Chelsea ace Cole Palmer shares X-rated nickname for Manchester City kitman Brandon Ashton as he leaves club after 15 years
Chelsea ace Cole Palmer has shared an X-rated nickname for Manchester City's departing kitman Brandon Ashton. Ashton left the Etihad Stadium after working with the club for 15 years. He received messages from several players on social media.
Palmer began his career with Manchester City in 2018 when he joined their youth team and would be familiar with the departing kitman who preceded him at the organization by nearly a decade.
Taking to social media to bid farewell to Ashton, Palmer dropped an x-rated nickname for the kitman, writing:
"B*llock chops."
The Chelsea star left Manchester City last summer in a deal worth €47 million, as per transfermarkt. The 22-year-old midfielder has gone on to score 26 times and provide 19 assists at his new club in 51 games. Cole Palmer has started the new season well, with one goal and four assists in four English Premier League games.

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has shared what Cole Palmer must do to be counted among the legends of the sport following his impressive debut season with the west London side in 2023-24. The forward was electric for the club in his debut campaign, bagging 22 goals and 11 assists in 33 Premier League games.
The Frenchman who played for the club between 2001 and 2006 had a challenge to issue to the English star during a recent interview, telling Prime Casino (via GOAL):
"Cole Palmer needs to stay at his level. Produce a season like that again. And again. And again. Season after season, that’s what the very best players - the legends - do. Messi and Ronaldo, these guys were the best for almost 15-20 years. It’s remarkable, and that is the standard if you want to be considered the best."
Gallas further pointed out that it would take immense mental fortitude to reach those levels, saying:
"What Palmer did last season with Chelsea was just incredible, want to see him do it again. We’ve seen a lot of players have one season at the top level. The most difficult challenge for players is to stay in that level. To do it takes unbelievable commitment, huge sacrifices."
"You must live your life like a monk. You must be happy knowing that you’re going to have three weeks in the year to switch off, and then you have to work even harder than the year before. It's not easy to do that. Not many players have the mental resources to deliver that kind of commitment," he added.
Gallas made 225 appearances for Chelsea (14 goals and eight assists), winning two Premier League titles and one League Cup. Cole Palmer next faces West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday (September 21) in the Premier League.
