Barcelona make decision on Paris Saint-Germain's €100m interest in 25-year-old star: Reports
Barcelona are reportedly unwilling to sell defender Jules Kounde amid interest from reigning French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the 25-year-old. The France international has been impressive since the start of the season, featuring prominently for his club across all competitions.
Despite being a centre-back by trade, Kounde has established himself as the first-choice right-back at the Montjuic this season, continuing in the role he played during the 2023-24 season. The former Sevilla man has made 15 appearances this season, performing impressively in Hansi Flick's system.
Jules Kounde's form has not gone unnoticed across Europe, with several clubs keen to land the versatile defender. French giants PSG, in particular, are said to be willing to pay up to €100 million to sign the defender, given his quality and standing in the French national team, as per SPORT.
The same report claims that Barcelona have indicated that they have no interest in parting ways with the defender, who is contracted to the club until 2027. PSG have Achraf Hakimi as their starting right-back at present, but are preparing for the potential exit of the former Real Madrid man, whose contract will expire in 2026.
The Ligue 1 side reportedly made an attempt to sign Barca's Lamine Yamal in the summer, and have been linked with Raphinha as well.
Barcelona have begun life under Hansi Flick excellently and are comfortably atop LaLiga after 12 rounds of matches. They will be keen to retain their most important players at this time, which includes Kounde, who has adapted seamlessly to the right-back position.
