Chelsea legend John Terry reacts as Cristiano Ronaldo receives special welcome at Al-Nassr after 900-goal milestone
Former Chelsea and England international defender John Terry has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo by reacting to a post by the Portuguese icon on Instagram. Ronaldo was given a special welcome by Al-Nassr to mark his 900-goal milestone.
The 39-year-old became the first player to score 900 goals for club and country. Ronaldo achieved this milestone when he scored the winner in Portugal's 2-1 win over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League opener last week. He then took his goals tally to 901 by netting the winner in his side's 2-1 win over Scotland in the following match.
Upon returning to club side duties, his club Al-Nassr deemed it fit to celebrate his achievement. Before the match against Al-Ahli, Ronaldo was given a special welcome and presented with a customized Al-Nassr jersey with the inscription 'GOAT 900 goals'.
However, the Knights of Najd failed to secure all three points as they were held to a 1-1 draw by their opponents and Ronaldo fired blanks. After the encounter, Ronaldo posted a series of pictures from the match, including one of him holding the customized jersey. He captioned the post:
"Until the last moment, keep believing!"
As expected, the post garnered a lot of reaction from fans, teammates, and ex-players. Former Chelsea captain John Terry was one of many who reacted to Ronaldo's post. Terry reacted with an emoji of a crown and a fist bump.
Ronaldo will hope to get back on the scoresheet when Al-Nassr next face Al-Ettifaq on Friday, September 20. The Knights of Najd are sixth in the Saudi Pro League table with five points (two draws, one win) after three games.
Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates reaching 1 billion followers across social media
Cristiano Ronaldo is not only smashing records on the field but also outside the sports. The Al-Nassr captain recently became the first person to garner one billion followers across various social media platforms.
He took to Instagram to celebrate this milestone with a post which partly reads:
"We’ve made history — 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number - it’s a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond."
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner quickly reached this figure after the massive followership on his recently opened YouTube channel UR Cristiano. He currently has over 61 million followers on YouTube in less than a month of creating the channel.
