Chelsea and Liverpool among European clubs keeping tabs on Bundesliga superstar - Reports
According to a report by Caught Offside (via Hard Tackle), Chelsea and Liverpool are closely monitoring Jamal Musiala. The Bayern Munich forward has become a transfer target for some of the top European clubs amidst uncertainty about his future with the Bundesliga outfit.
Musiala’s current contract with Bayern Munich does not expire until the summer of 2026. The 21-year-old has yet to pen a new deal and is attracting interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and boyhood club Chelsea.
The Germany international has established himself as one of the most promising talents in Europe in the past couple of seasons. He joined Bayern Munich in 2019 from Chelsea’s academy. Musiala progressed through the Bavarian club’s youth ranks and is now a key player for both club and country.
In 174 games for Bayern Munich, he has scored 50 goals and created 35 assists. Musiala also recently scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Mainz 04 in the DFB Pokal second round. His tally has reached seven goals and four assists in 11 games across competitions this term.
As per the report, the Blues are considering a move for their former player. Chelsea are still in search of a prolific forward who could bolster their squad with goals and creativity, and Musiala fits the profile. He is capable of playing anywhere in the attacking third as well as his primary role as an attacking midfielder.
Liverpool meanwhile, see the youngster as an ideal replacement for Mohammed Salah. The Egyptian forward is in the final months of his contract and has yet to open a new deal, hence the interest in Musiala.
However, Bayern Munich are determined to keep their star forward and are looking to offer him a new contract. As per Transfermarkt, Musiala is currently valued at about €130 million. Therefore, he won’t be a cheap purchase for any of the clubs interested in his services.
It remains to be seen whether Bayern can persuade him to stay at the Allianz Arena or if he might be tempted to sign with another club.
Chelsea handed boost as transfer target’s price reportedly drops massively
Chelsea are one of the top European clubs reported to be interested in Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres. The Sweden international has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe. He has registered an impressive 59 goals and 19 assists in 65 games since the start of last season.
It was previously reported that the 26-year-old had a huge release clause of €100 million. However, a recent report by Metro claims that Gyokeres can now be sold by Sporting CP for as low as €60 million.
Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City have also shown interest in the Swedish star. Reports have also linked Gyokeres with a move to Manchester United, with the Red Devils set to appoint Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim as their next manager.
