Chelsea dealt major injury blow with defender expected to miss four to five weeks - Reports

Chelsea have been dealt a major injury blow, with Wesley Fofana expected to miss four to five weeks of action, according to a report from Evening Standard. The France international has been a key figure at the back under Enzo Maresca this season, having started 12 of the Blues' 13 Premier League matches so far.

However, he was forced off after 60 minutes because of a hamstring problem in the west Londoners' 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday (December 1). This will certainly frustrate the defender, who has had several issues with fitness in recent times.

Fofa missed the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign due to an ACL injury. His performances have helped Chelsea to third place in the Premier League standings this season, where they are nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
