Chelsea preparing massive offer for Premier League defender wanted by PSG - Reports

Chelsea are set to battle Paris Saint-Germain in the race for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. According to Football Insider, the Blues are willing to offer a large fee to sign the Brazilian amidst interest from the Ligue 1 giants.

Les Parisiens had expressed an interest in Murillo in the summer, with Football Insider claiming that they had made contact over a possible deal. Eventually, they moved away and signed Eintracht Frankfurt's Willian Pacho.

Chelsea, meanwhile, added youngster Renato Veiga and Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo to bolster their defence in the summer. Despite their impressive start to the season, the backline still has some room for improvement, and the Blues could be keen to add Murillo. The 22-year-old has been key for a Forest side that have surprised many and find themselves third in the Premier League after 10 games.

The Londoners already boast a multitude of options in central defence. The likes of Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Adarabioyo have all earned minutes there. Thus, they might have to sell a few on this list if they want to sign the Brazilian.

PSG, on the other hand, will be searching for a lynchpin in defence alongside Marquinhos. Alongside him and Pacho, other options include Lucas Beraldo and Milan Skriniar, neither of whom have shown a lot for Luis Enrique this season.

Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are believed to be among many suitors for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres. According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed interest in the 26-year-old.

His current contract with the club is set to expire in the summer of 2028 and has a release clause worth €100 million. However, the report claims that the club would let him go next season for a fee of around €60-70 million.

That amount would mark a massive profit on the €24 million they spent to sign him from Championship side Coventry City. He has been a revelation for the side, bagging 63 goals and 19 assists in 66 games for the club.

Gyokeres could be a potent addition to a PSG side that has lacked a true star among their forwards since the departure of Kylian Mbappe. Chelsea, meanwhile, already have Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku in their ranks. It will be interesting to see where the Sweden international will fit if he signs for them.
