Chelsea star Cole Palmer set to battle Cristiano Ronaldo record as match-worn shirt invites bids in auction

Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer's jersey could be set to battle that of Cristiano Ronald for an auction sale on MatchWornShirt. The Blues winger put in an impressive performance against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League at the weekend (September 28), scoring four goals in the first half.

Palmer's record achievement helped the Blues win the game 4-2 and now his jersey is set to be sold at an auction. The shirt has reportedly already received a £16,000 bid (via GOAL), with the Blues set to forward all earnings to their Chelsea FC Foundation.

Cristiano Ronaldo currently holds the record for the most expensive jersey sale on MatchWornShirt's auctions. His jersey has previously sold for £43,000 from a game during his second spell at Old Trafford. Palmer's jersey could see a flurry of late bids to outdo Ronaldo's sum.

The Chelsea winger has been the talk of the town since his transfer to London from Manchester City last summer. He has netted 31 goals and assisted 19 times in 53 games for the Blues.

Jamie Carragher labels Chelsea star Cole Palmer the best player in the Premier League right now

Sky Sports pundit has labeled Cole Palmer as the best player right now in the Premier League. Speaking after Palmer's four-goal show at Stamford Bridge, Carragher said (via Daily Mail):

"Last season, I was a little bit reticent to say he was the best player in the Premier League. I actually felt he was, but the fact Chelsea hadn't had such a great season, I ended up going for Foden."

He added:

"But inside me, I felt he was the best player in the Premier League. if he carries on this again this season, I think he's the best player in the Premier League. He's not playing with the absolute elite at Manchester City."

Phil Foden won the Premier League Player of the Year last season with Palmer bagging the Young Player of the Year award.
