Chelsea star left out of USA pre-season squad to force exit - Reports
Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has reportedly been left out of the club's squad for their pre-season tour of the USA, as the Blues are looking to sell him this summer. The Blues will embark on their tour of the USA, where they will play five friendlies before returning to England.
Enzo Maresca's side are prepared to fly out for their USA tour after spending two weeks training at the club's Cobham base.
A notable absentee from Chelsea's traveling group is academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah, who the club is looking to move on this summer, as per @TheChelseaSpot on X.
Chelsea are keen to sell Trevoh Chalobah this summer, just as they were last summer until a lengthy spell on the sidelines scuppered their plans. The 25-year-old is contracted to the club until 2028, having signed a contract extension at Stamford Bridge in 2022.
Chalobah missed a huge chunk of the 2023-24 season through injury before returning to action in the second half of the campaign. The Englishman played a major role for Chelsea as they finished the season strongly, securing European football at the end of the campaign.
The English centre-back is one of many options the Blues have at the back, and the club view him as a sellable asset this summer. They have Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Axel Disasi, all of whom can play on the right side of a centre-back pairing.
Trevoh Chalobah's status as an academy graduate means that the club stands to make an instant profit from selling him. According to reports, he has already turned down a number of approaches from sides in the Premier League as he would prefer to remain at Stamford Bridge.
