Chelsea have submitted an offer for Leandro Trossard, according to Todo Fichajes via Caught Offside.

The Belgian forward has been on a roll this season for Brighton & Hove Albion, and has six goals from 11 games across competitions. However, he's in the final year of his deal and is yet to commit his future to the club. The Seagulls have the option to tie him down to an additional year, but the player is generating attention from clubs around the league.

The Blues are in the list of his suitors and have reportedly submitted an offer for the 27-year-old. Graham Potter is likely to be in the market for upgrades in attack, with Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic failing to impress.

Trossard could be an upgrade on the duo, but the London giants may have to ward off competition from Newcastle United to get their man. The Magpies have also placed an offer for the player, who's expected to cost €25 million.

Chelsea have retained an interest in Edson Alvarez, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Mexican was a target for the London giants this summer, but Ajax refused to let him leave in the dying hours of the window. The Blues are looking to bolster their midfield next year and have their eyes on the 25-year-old.

In his column for Caught Offside, Romano said that the Eredivisie giants are unlikely to let Alvarez leave in January.

“He’s always been on Chelsea’s list, but Ajax will try to keep him at least until the end of the season. There are no negotiations ongoing now, also no decision will be made by Chelsea on new midfielder in October; it will take some time. Not an easy one, for sure,” wrote Romano.

Alvarez has racked up 15 appearances for Ajax in all competitions this season and has also found the back of the net once.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has said that a desire to play regular football was behind his decision to leave Chelsea this summer. The Englishman joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan this summer till the end of the season.

Speaking to The Athletic, Hudson-Odoi said that he's ready to give his best in the Bundesliga before returning to Stamford Bridge next summer.

“At that present moment when we had the first game for Chelsea against Everton, I wasn’t in the squad. That from there was my mindset saying, ‘I have to get out of here.’ Not in a rude way or in a way where I don’t want to be at the club, or I don’t like the club, nothing like that. It was a mindset of just, ‘I need to go and play football’, you know?” said Hudson-Odoi.

He added:

“So my mindset was just, ‘Let me get out, play my football somewhere else, and try and do the best I can wherever I am’. And then obviously at the end of the loan, go back to Chelsea.”

Hudson-Odoi has appeared ten times across competitions for Leverkusen this season but is yet to score.
