Chelsea want to sign 24-year-old Paraguayan winger, who has agreement to leave current club: Reports
Chelsea are eyeing a move for CA Talleres winger Ramon Sosa, whose eye-catching displays in Argentina's top-flight have put him on European clubs' radars. The Blues are prepared for a big summer as they look to build on their strong finish to the 2023-24 season by signing the right players.
Paraguay international Sosa has come into prominence in the Argentine league, as well as Copa Libertadores, after a strong start to the 2024 season. The 24-year-old left winger has scored five goals and provided four assists in 13 league matches this year, while also recording a goal and assist in the continental tournament.
Chelsea are looking to sell 29-year-old forward Raheem Sterling, who has lost his place in the XI at Stamford Bridge since March. With Mykhailo Mudryk still yet to reach his best levels for the club, they will look to make another signing in the position.
Journalist Pelota Parada has reported that the Blues are keen on the wide man, and have initiated contacts with his representatives over the conditions for a move. There is growing expectation that Mauricio Pochettino's side will initiate formal talks with Talleres in the coming weeks as they look to wrap up his signing early.
Ramon Sosa will likely star for Paraguay at the Copa America, where not just Chelsea, but multiple other interested sides can watch him perform. The forward is on the radars of Everton and Newcastle United, as well, and is set to leave his club in the upcoming window.
Talleres president Andres Fassi has revealed that the winger has an agreement in place with the club to allow him leave in the summer if their valuation is met. The Argentine club hope to recoup around $20 million from the transfer of the talented winger.
Chelsea reach agreement over signing of Brazilian wonderkid
Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with Brazilian champions Palmeiras for the transfer of boy wonder, Estevao Willian. The Blues have agreed to pay €57 million, more than his release clause of €55 million, to sign the 17-year-old winger.
Chelsea will pay an initial €34 million upfront, with €23 million in bonuses, and will hand the youngster a 7+1-year contract. The Brazil U-20 star will join the Blues once he turns 18 in January 2025, and will hope to make his name with Palmeiras before then.
Estevao will become one of the biggest transfers out of Brazil, with his transfer fee eclipsing those of Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo. His transfer represents another step forward for the Blues' South American connection, as they have signed quite a number of players from the region.
