"Could genuinely be the worst kit in the clubs history" - Fans react as picture of Chelsea's new home kit for 2024-25 season surfaces

Chelsea have recently unveiled their new kit for the upcoming 2024-25 season and fans aren't happy with it.

Curated by Nike, the jersey boasts a marble tabletop-like pattern on a dark blue background. The upper left bears the club's logo while Nike's iconic tickmark sign is stitched on the right.

Fans of the club have expressed their frustration on social media, especially X. Some of their comments are as follows.

"Nike be doing us dirty," commented one fan.
"This could genuinely be the worst kit in the clubs history," declared another.
"Why don’t they just keep it simple ffs," opined another fan.

Another fan opined that the jersey bore 'Disney colors.' Moreover, he commented on the fact that the t-shirt and the shorts are of the exactly same color and pattern.

"It’s absolutely abysmal and the same patterned shorts just makes it even worse. The whole plastic badge nonsense we have done back to back season, no other team has that in the Prem i don’t know why they keep messing with the badge in Disney colours," complained one netizen.
"Looks like melted ice cream," quipped another fan on X.
"Looks like a training kit ffs," declared one fan.

Some fans even suggested switching allegiances from Nike to Adidas because of the jersey curations of the former sports apparel giant.

"I don't like this/We're loosing our vibe as Chelsea/We need to switch to Adidas ASAP," opined one fan.

However, very few fans were also impressed by Nike's unpopular choice and went against the tide of criticism to claim that they actually liked Chelsea's new jersey.

"Not bad design. Nike are better designers than lazy addidas," explained one fan.

The club will start their Premier League 2024-25 campaign with one of the toughest challenges of the season as they will face Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on August 18.

Marc Cucurella has been one of the standout performers for Spain in their run to the Euro 2024 finals. The 25-year-old defender has been decisive with his tackles and has covered the full length of the pitch to help and connect both the attack and the defense of an inspired La Roja side this tournament.

Most Chelsea fans were keen to see him leave the club after two underwhelming seasons for the blue outfit. However, after his European Championship performance, fans are split over the issue. Many are especially interested to see how the defender pairs up with the new manager, Enzo Maresca.

The Spaniard's agent, Alex Pique, recently discussed his transfer position on his Substack.

“Cucurella is very comfortable and happy at Chelsea and in London. His idea is to stay at the club. Under normal circumstances, he will continue there,” explained Pique (via Chelsea News).

By using the phrase "under normal circumstances," the agent kept the door open for potential offers.
