"Could be that he's going to England" - Fan at Euro 2024 preview claims Manchester United target removed Arsenal from chest
A Denmark fan has made a surprising revelation about Manchester United target Morten Hjulmand when he spoke at a preview of the England-Denmark game. The Three Lions will lock horns with Denmark in their second group game of Euro 2024 on June 20, with both sides looking for all three points.
Denmark were pegged back by debutants Slovenia in their first group match, while their English counterparts narrowly overcame Serbia. The sides will meet for the first time since the Euro 2020 semi-final, where England defeated their opponents thanks to a Harry Kane goal in extra time.
SportBible had two Danish fans join in on their preview of the game between England and Denmark, with one of them making a surprising claim. The fan named Sporting Lisbon man Morten Hjulmand as a Danish player to watch before claiming he was an Arsenal fan who is set to move to a different Premier League club.
"Currently there is Morten Hjulmand. He is a bright star, just playing at Sporting at the moment. And there are some sayings that he has tattooed an Arsenal badge on his left chest and he's just gotten it removed. So there could be that he's going to England soon. He got it removed to open mark for other Premier League offers," the fan said.
Hjulmand, 24, has been linked with a move to Manchester United earlier this summer, as the Premier League giants are looking to sign a defensive midfielder. The Denmark international featured for 89 minutes in the Euro 2024 opener against Slovenia, and is expected to feature against England as well.
Valued at around £69 million by the Portuguese champions, Hjulmand could yet catch the eye of Erik ten Hag's side at Euro 2024. With his reported favorite club not looking to make any midfield additions at present, he could join another English side.
Manchester United leapfrog Arsenal in race for Serie A star - Reports
Manchester United have reportedly moved ahead of rivals Arsenal in their pursuit of striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. Former Bayern Munich man Zirkzee is expected to move this summer amid interest from around Europe.
Zirkzee caught the eye in the 2023-24 season when he scored 11 goals and assisted five in Serie A to help Bologna reach the UEFA Champions League. The 23-year-old has been on the radar of Manchester United since January, and Arsenal joined his list of suitors this summer.
The Sun reports that the Red Devils have the upper hand in the pursuit of the striker, who has a €40 million release clause. They have held direct talks with his agent Kia Joorabchian, and may move to trigger his clause in the coming weeks.
