“Could you please get me 2 tickets to come and watch you” - South African footballer slides into Cristiano Ronaldo’s DMs; watches Al-Nassr game

South African footballer Mahlatse Makudubela has shared his experience after recently traveling to Saudi Arabia to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play for Al-Nassr. It all began when the 34-year-old slid into Ronaldo's DMs to ask for tickets and culminated in him watching the Portuguese great live in action.

Makudubela posted a video of his journey to watch the Al-Nassr star play on Instagram with the caption:

"This is how if started ….😁👍 The rest is history…..😀 Thank you @cristiano ⚽️Siiiiuuuuuuuuuuuuuu."

The clip shows the moment when the South African slid into Roanldo's DMs to request tickets for Al-Nassr's league clash with Al-Orobah on October 5. After greeting the Portuguese icon, he wrote:

"Could you please get me two tickets to come and watch you tomorrow playing?"

He ended his request with the popular term "Siuuu" made famous by the Portuguese. In the video, Makudubela can be seen arriving at Al-Nassr's Al-Awwal Park and watching Cristiano Ronaldo from the sidelines. He is also seen waiting outside the stadium as the 39-year-old stopped to take pictures with fans after the game.

It's worth noting that Al-Nassr not only defeated Al-Orobah 3-0, but Ronaldo also scored a goal. The Al-Nassr captain opened the scoring with a well-taken penalty in the 17th minute. Sadio Mane (29', 71') scored the other two goals in the game. The video indicates that Makudubela is a big fan of Ronaldo. However, it is unclear if the Al-Nassr skipper replied to the South African or granted his request.

As per Transfermarkt, Makudubela is currently a free agent and last played for Tazanain club Young Africans. He formerly played for notable South African clubs such as Orlando Pirates, Chippa United, and Lamontville Golden Arrows.

What's next for Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr after the international break?

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently on international duty with Portugal in the UEFA Nations League. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been in fine form at club level, scoring in all but one game for the Knights Of Najd this season. He has contributed eight goals and provided three assists in nine games for Al-Nassr to date.

Up next for Al-Nassr after the international window is an away game at Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League on Friday, October 18. After that, they will travel to Iran to face Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League Elite four days later.
