Cristiano Ronaldo joined by 4 Manchester United stars in the top 10 best-selling Premier League player shirts over the last 5 years

Cristiano Ronaldo and four Manchester United players made the list of the top 10 best-selling Premier League player shirts in the last five years. It is worth noting that the Portuguese ace returned to England for less than two years, but he brought his celebrity stardom with him.

Before he eventually clashed heads with the club hierarchy and left for Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo was easily the biggest star in the Premier League. His superstardom played a big part in the fans flocking to the stores to buy his jersey.

Cristiano Ronaldo went on to sell the most jerseys in the last five years despite his short second spell at Old Trafford. He impressively tops the charts, with the majority of his jerseys from the 2021-22 season getting sold, according to a report from Fanatics (via talkSPORT).

He is followed by Erling Haaland, who joined Manchester City in 2022 and helped them win the continental treble. His teammate Jack Grealish came third on the list, with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in fourth.

Manchester United players Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford were also on the list in fifth and sixth, respectively. After Son Heung-min in seventh, United winger Antony is in eighth, while Phil Foden (Manchester City) and Rasmus Hojlund (Manchester United) round the top 10 list.

How Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United?

Cristiano Ronaldo opted to leave Manchester United by mutual consent in November 2022 after clashing with the club's hierarchy. He left without getting a payout, having taken to an interview with Piers Morgan to lambast the club for their recent decisions.

According to Ronaldo, the executives at Old Trafford failed to show any empathy after he lost his newborn son in April 2022. He also lashed out at Erik ten Hag, claiming that the Dutch manager had no respect for him.

This came after Ten Hag removed him at half-time during a pre-season friendly, and the Portuguese opted to leave the pitch. He also did something similar in October during United's win over Tottenham. Ronaldo refused to come on as a substitute and walked out before the match ended.

However, he remains a Manchester United legend, having won the first of his five Ballons d'Or at Old Trafford during his first stint under Sir Alex Ferguson.
