Ronaldo has marked his name as one of the world's best-ever strikers, recently hitting a milestone of 900 goals in his career. Half of those goals (450) notably came during his nine-year reign in Spain with Real Madrid. The 39-year-old has yet to retire, as he looks intent on being the first player in history to hit the 1000-goal mark before he hangs up his boots.

Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted defeat in race for Ballon d'Or record

Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted he has lost out in the race for the record of the player with the most Ballons d'Or awarded. Notably, the legendary Portuguese striker has five such awards, but he has been overshadowed by Lionel Messi. The Argentine magician has racked up an unprecedented eight.

However, Ronaldo has made it clear that he is no longer chasing after prestigious individual accolades. Instead, his focus is on his team Al-Nassr. The forward explained in a recent press conference (via talkSPORT):

“It is not important anymore whether I am the best or not, I no longer care about that. It is good for a player to score goals, but for me it is better for the team to win. I am used to breaking records and I no longer look for them. The most important thing for me now is to enjoy and help Al Nassr and my teammates to win.”

Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo has already won a trophy with the Saudi Arabian giants, having lifted the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023. However, Al-Hilal have dominated the domestic competitions, with the Portuguese yet to win the Saudi Pro League or King's Cup.

He has been on a brilliant run of form with Al-Nassr, scoring a remarkable 65 goals and providing 17 assists in just 72 games for the club.
