Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr eyeing up possible move for 35-year-old star from Turkish giants: Reports
Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are targetting 35-year-old Serbian footballer Dusan Tadic. As per a report from Takvim, the Saudi Pro League outfit want to sign Tadic, who is currently plying his trade for Fenerbache in the Super Lig in Turkey.
Fenerbahce are urrently being managed by Jose Mourinho, who previously managed Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid. However, Tadic is an important member of Mourinho's contingent. But luckily, his contract ends in June 2025.
The Serbian footballer is known for his versatility. Notably, he can operate on both wings and also as an attacking midfielder if the need arises. For example, this season, Tadic has been used as a right winger in 16 games across all competitions. Two fixtures saw him operate as an attacking midfielder and in one game Mourinho deployed him on the left flank.
Tadic's versatility is something which will be useful for Al-Nassr, if they are able to acquire his services. Heis one of the most experienced players at Fenerbahce. He has a whopping 295 appearances in the Dutch Eredivisie, a competition where he scored a mind-boggling 119 goals and delivered 140 assists.
Tadic even had his share in the Premier League in England, where he played 134 games. Tadic, who will turn 36 on November 20, 2024, is mostly remembered for his spells at Dutch giants AFC Ajax and Southampton in England.
Al-Nassr and their current standings
Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr currently find themselves in the third position of both the Saudi Pro League and the AFC Champions League Elite. In the continental comeptition, they are placed in Group B and have gathered 10 points across four fixtures. This includes three wins and a draw. Two points separate them from group leaders Al-Hilal and second-placed Al-Ahli Saudi.
However, the situation in the Saudi Pro League doesn't look as decent as the AFC Champions League Elite. Although Al-Nassr are in the third position, they have accumulated six points lesser than Al-Hilal, who hold the pole position.
Amidst this, Cristiano Ronaldo has continued his goal-scoring spree. In the domestic league, he has netted six goals in nine appearances. The AFC Champions League Elite saw him miss the first fixture. However, since then he has appeared in all three matches and scored twice for his side too.
After the November international break concludes, Cristiano Ronaldo's side will be up against Al-Qadisiyah in the Saudi Pro League on November 22. Following this clash, they will take on Qatari side Al-Gharafa in the continental competition.
